This is not explosive training, so they are NOT going to see the results they thought they would. I assure you, they will not like the results. You have go to train for explosion and not endurance to improve your jumping ability.
"Explosive" training will not feel right to start with. You don't end up with the same burn as training aerobically. In a few ways explosion traing is easier, although it requires much more focus and short term energy.
